E-ZPass will be charging NJ drivers $1.00/mo for their service, and will possibly reduce the toll discounts. While it’s still a better deal than paying the tolls cash (unless the driver uses less than a few times per month), it’s still unfortunate. The article makes some points about how Gov. Whitman’s administrated mismanaged the entire operation. I’m glad I don’t drive anymore…
Well, not completely glad.
What? That sucks! Oh well….I’m still not going to get rid of it (which is probably what they’re counting on) but it still sucks.
I’m sure this won’t stick, because no other state in the “Regional Consortium” charges, so SOMEONE will take this to court.
OK, after reading the article, I see that “some” states charge. But still, I don’t think it’ll stick.
Maybe if they actually started going after violators, they’d recoup some of their money…
Yeah, after reading the article, though, it starts to sound worse. I wouldn’t mind the charge if they kept the reduced toll price, but if they’re going to do away with both, then, well….it’s now costing me money for the privelage of having EZPass, then, and that may not be acceptable.
