Hey there! I need testers for my Project! Go to MarchNow.com!

(George S.) Clinton For President
Like most of the country, I saw Austin Powers in Goldmember this weekend. It was pretty funny (particularly the opening and closing montages), but at this point I don’t think I’d be excited to see a fourth movie in the series, even if it does portray Seth Green‘s rise to bald, evil mastermind.
August is party month here in New Jersey with several birthdays, housewarming events and stuff like that.
And to the person it was who told me Frau Farbissina was played by the short annoying girl from Saturday Night Live, with a lot of make-up, you’re wrong.
Knowing When It’s Time
According to these guidelines, a past employer of mine should have folded long ago. I guess some companies just don’t play by the “rules…”
Let’s Get Moving Already
The summer seems to be a time for moving. Three women I work with here at the Company are moving to new positions within the building. One of them is the woman I replaced temporarily while she was on vacation—this is how I got the job in the first place. Since she came back, I’ve added on quite a bit of responsibilites, and now that there will probably be a lapse before someone else is hired, I’m sure I’ll be busy for a while.
But being busy is a good thing; I could really use the overtime pay. Although, the time spent in the office will cut into the time spent working on my Project.
Speaking about the Project ,I had wanted the beta testing to start this Friday, but now because of some new developments, that might not be possible. This brings us back to the fact that summer seems to be a time for moving.
My roommate called today in tears because Comcast shut off our cable and internet connection due to non-payment. It seems she had been hiding the bills in fear or having to spend money. Since we split everything half way but all the bills are in her name, I do not worry about this stuff until she feels it’s important to show me the bills. Since she hides the bills I never see them. Well, I called Comcast and paid what I needed to pay for them to reconnect the service since I need it tonight to work on a client’s website (I wouldn’t have paid the bill otherwise). She’s going to find that she will need to come up with some cash to pay me back ASAP, since I will be moving to an apartment back in good old Lawrenceville. I’ll give me thirty days’ notice, she’ll use some of the money from the security deposit (which I am sure she deposited into an interest-bearing account—HA!) to pay for my last month’s rent. Even though I’m giving thirty days I’m pretty sure I’ll be out within the next seven days.
Well, in any case, it’ll be nice to live in apartment where 4,999 of my 5,000 roommates aren’t several species of small furry bugs.
Blast Again!
So after a few years of procrastination, I finally saw Blast! last night in Philadelphia. We even dragged Darren along. He wrote a little about his impressions so I won’t duplicate that here. My favorite part of the show was probably just the fact that the entire brass line was so well in tune (intonation). When you’re perfectly in tune, certain chords and unisons can create such wonderful harmonics. (That’s when you hear more notes in a chord than are actually being played because of the way the vibrations in the air match together so perfectly, they create more vibrations…)
I can’t wait to go see Blast II: Shockwave when it comes out.
Nice Horoscope
I usually post horoscopes when I either don’t have anything to say or have an announcement that’s not quite ready for prime time. Thus:
Legal matters regarding money could be on your agenda today, dear Pisces. You might have some forms to fill out, or a contract to execute. You’ll find it easier than you usually do, because your mind is especially clear right now. You’ll get it all done quickly so you can go out and do what you genuinely enjoy. Skip the supermarket and go to the baker, the confectioner, or the greengrocer. Buy something nice for your home. Enjoy your day.
Just Got Back From The Doctor’s
Good news: I’m perfectly healthy. I still have all my hearing, and somehow, even though I stare a computer screens for close to twenty-four hours a day I still have 20/20 vision (which I suppose, isn’t perfect considering the last time I had a vision test—15 years ago?–my vision was better than 20/20). My cholesterol level is very good and my blood count is normal. My only hope is that some day they find a permanent cure for lactose intolerance, but for some reason I don’t think that’s as high on the agenda as cancer or AIDS.
This Worries Me
US Planning To Recruit One in 24 Americans as (Community) Spies. Here’s the government organization’s website. This is nationalism to an extreme unheard of since the Gestapo: “During the Second World War there were 45,000 members of the Gestapo. However, it is estimated they also employed 160,000 agents and informers.“ The only apparent difference is the Nazis were smart enough to pay the informants; Bush is asking for volunteers.
