I finally realized exactly how
I finally realized exactly how much internet “culture” has invaded the rest of society when I saw this license plate on a car while driving on the New Jersey Turnpike the other day:

Oddly, all my passwords have
Oddly, all my passwords have disappeared from my computer’s memory, including Windows passwords as well as website passwords. Happy Friday the 13th, eh? Speaking of which, my boss’ computer was acting up today and I still haven’t fixed the problem completely for him…
It’s another weekend of work
It’s another weekend of work up ahead for me: tomorrow evening and all day Sunday. I’m hoping to get a Sunday off this next weekend so I can go driving into New England to look at the leaves on the trees while they are the most colorful. When I was younger and lived in Upstate New York, every fall we would drive through Connecticut and Massachusetts during the one weekend when the trees were at their prettiest of the year. I’m hoping I’ll be able to start doing that again. I believe next weekend is the best time of the season, so I will have to work it out somehow.
Even if I do end up going, I really don’t know where to drive. Does anyone who is familiar with the area have any suggestions as to where the roads with the best trees in New England are?
When I got home from
When I got home from work today, at around 11:00 p.m., there was a package waiting for me from Amazon.com. Apparently my boss checked out my wish list.

Bush and Gore will tie
Bush and Gore will tie for presidency. I mean, if two drum corps can tie for a score, basically out of a thousand, then two guys can receive the same number of electoral votes.

It’s only 6:30 PM and I’m ready to fall asleep… after a long weekend. Happy Yom Kippur, if that’s your thing.
It was cold and windy
It was cold and windy tonight. The temperature dropped twenty degrees in an hour. That’s why I don’t like fall as much as summer.
The band Phish is finally
The band Phish is finally taking a break after touring almost continuously for 17 years. I can’t imagine doing anything almost continuously for 17 years, but I guess that’s just me. I was just talking about them tonight, describing how before the concert I saw several years ago, people were tailgating in the parking lots with their tanks of nitrous oxide (aka. laughing gas). Apparently there was a story in the news (which I missed but later found) about how some cops went “under cover” in a chat room to learn the drug slang of the Phish heads. I recounted how, at the show I attended, the police walked up to everyone with tanks and forced them to release the content directly into the air. (The common mehod for inhaling the nitrus oxide was to fill a balloon with it and inhale the gas from the balloon.)
