There’s this thing about expectations. People will sometimes live up to them, but they will always live down to them.
Silly Stuff
Controlling Parent?
A mother is dissatisfied with her 22-year-old daughter’s taste in men. Sound familiar? It looks pretty typical. That happens everywhere across the world. However in this case, the mother, inspired by “reality” television shows, is now taking applications from her daughter’s potential suitors, and advertising the fact on their lawn and in the newspaper. On top of that, the successful applicant and the daughter will enjoy a romantic night at a Cape Cod motel on the mother’s dime.
I Could Raise Money
If Warren E. Buffett (C.E.O. of Berkshire Hathaway — great retro website) can auction lunch for the lucky winner and seven of his or her friends, with him, then why couldn’t I? I suppose it’s unlikely I could get his asking price, but hey. Lunch with me has got to be worth fifty bucks to someone… </sarcasm>
Left and Right Tongues
I wanted to share this with you because I love you. The article bears an appropriate title: Aaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Apparently splitting or forking your tongue is the new “piercing” that all the kids are doing. Here’s why one guy has mutilated himself in this manner (from the article):
“I like the way it looks,” he said, listing his reasons. “Two, I think it will be more fun during oral sex and the girls will get a kick out of it. Three, everyone and their mother has their tongue pierced and four, I’m an idiot.”
Well, at least he’s right about that last point. As for fun during oral sex, can’t a girl just get the same effect from two different tongues at the same time?
The last line of the article is particularly frightening.
Hacking the Phone
I’ve successfully hacked the CDMA Motorola T720 on Verizon Wireless, with the help of some software. Now I can use my own MIDI files for ringtones, use my own pictures for backgrounds, and even update the software without purchasing anything through Get It Now™ or bringing the phone into a service center.
Of course we all know polyphonic ringtones can be annoying, but there’s no harm if no one else hears it.
Emode’s Inkblot Test
Apparently my unconscious mind is driven most by peace. You can take the inkblot test that was used to determine this, but it’s a little bit long. Here is what they had to say about me:
Usually, the thing that underlies this unconscious drive is a deep respect for humankind. You care about the future of the world, even beyond your own involvement in it. As a result, your personal integrity acts as a surrogate for your deeper drive toward peace and guides you in daily life towards decisions that are respectful toward yourself and others.
Though your unconscious mind is driven most strongly by Peace, there is much more to who you are at your core.
