The Anticipation

There’s a certain level of anxiousness between the time a new domain name is purchased and the time it is completely activated and propogated. You know the anticipation is too much when every few minutes, you type the new URL into the browser, hoping something other than an error page will finally pop up. And you hope, that when something finally does appear, that it will be what you intended to be there.

Speaking of Gmail

The Powers What Be just gave me invites to spread around. I have six left, so if you are interested in giving Gmail a shot, let me know.

And by the way, for those of you who didn’t catch it in the sidebar, I’ve posted photographs from my day with Amy, hiking in New York.

The Big G

I’ve been hooked up with Gmail. To reach me, use firstnamelastname[at]gmail.com. I don’t think I’ll be using it as my primary email account just yet, but it’s nice to have for now. The threading feature seems supercool.

Interesting

Tonight I was downloading a video or something, and I noticed it was coming in much faster than usual. Odd, I thought. How is the download going faster than Comcast‘s limit?

Well tonight as I was watching The West Wing, a Comcast commercial comes on, and the actress tells me that Comcast High Speed Internet is Now Twice the Speed.

So there you go.

eBay Apprehension

71_1.jpg
I found the first component of my new computer on eBay. I “bought it now” last Thursday and immediately processed the payment through PayPal. So far, I’ve received no confirmation from the selleter that the order is being processed. This is why I’m always apprehensive about eBay. Although this vendor has tons of positive feedback, I just sit here worrying while waiting for some sort of communication.

I guess worrying does no good, but I’d like to get started building this system. It will start getting used right away, and several projects are waiting for it…

Upcoming.org

This new collaborative website is kind of interesting. You can register upcoming events, of any time, have other people declare their intention to intend, as well as post comments. It’s kind of like what might happen if we were given the ability to peek at everyone else’s evite history.

Why can’t I ever think of the interesting ideas first?

Announcing…

I’ve helped Flexo (the Evil Bender) out by giving him some space on my good old web server. He’s got an interesting blog, if you’re into personal finance and boring stuff like that. Check it out. Leave some comments. Say hi.
