Just watching The Office and I noticed that Michael Scott (the boss) has the same computer keyboard I have in my cube.

The Original Original Star Wars Trilogy
Of course it was going to happen. Lucasfilm and Fox will be releasing two-disc DVD versions of the original Star Wars trilogy, as they were first shown in theaters. Each two-disc episode will contain the original version as well as the 2004 re-edited and touched-up release. This will be nice for those of us who remember when Star Wars wasn’t “Episode 4.”
You Have To Have Someone To Look Up To
Today, Stephen Colbert is my hero. He lampooned the president well and good while standing just a few feet away from him and the Associated Press. Read the transcript when you have five minutes free.
Someday I’ll have Comedy Central again…
The Loop
The cool thing about Fox’s new show about a young exec at an airline company, The Loop, is that the pilot episode can actually be titled Pilot.
For Your Consideration…
Christopher Guest and crew are at it again. This fall, the usual crowd (plus Ricky Gervais from The Office) will release a new film, For Your Consideration. The film is about an independent film’s path through awards season. The film within the film is called “Home for Purim.”
Finally, something in the theater to look forward to. I also can’t wait to see Home for Purim’s studio-designed website — there better be one.
Live Action Simpsons Opening
If The Simpsons wasn’t animated, this would be the opening sequence. Nice editing. It’s also very accurate.
Now Change
Amy and I went to the very cold New York City last night to see I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (turn down your volume before you click). At first, when she told me about the musical, I thought she was trying to send a message.
The musical was cute. The songs weren’t magnificent, but some were memorable and the performers (a cast of four playing multiple characters) were very good.
Before the show, we had dinner in a small barbecue place down the street from the theater. The food was great but the drinks had way too much alcohol. It was a nice end to a full weekend. I had originally planned to take off from work today to extend my time, but decided not to and save the vacation day for another time, preferrably when Amy doesn’t have an appointment with her dentist. But there isn’t much going on in the office. The boss is out because she, like Amy, sliced her hand with a knife this weekend. There must be something going around.
Dr. Who in America
This spring, Doctor Who lands in America (thanks to the SciFi channel). This might mean I’ll have to get digital cable again.
Steve Martin Blogs
Steve Martin (yep, that Steve Martin) blogs — well, in this case, one blog entry — about the politicism of leap seconds.
Potter and Plans
My brother and I caught the latest Harry Potter movie last night. It wasn’t too bad. There seem to be several movies I’d like to see over the next few months. I think it’s going to be a busy holiday season. Hopefully the plans that are still squishy will solidify a bit. I’m flying back to the “home area” on Friday and going into New York City on Saturday for Laura‘s birthday. I’ll finally make it home to Rupert on Sunday — then it’s back to work.
At some point, I’m supposed to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular with Amy. That will be a first.
