It’s amusing, because on the radio this morning was a discussion of while the movie did okay, it wasn’t spectacular, and the amount it brought in on Saturday was something like 14% lower than the amount on Friday…bad word of mouth.
I don’t know about that. This was the first weekend in a really long time that wasn’t opressively humid, and many people who would normally go to see a movie like xXx may have been out doing other things. The real test will be how it does in it’s second week.
Personally, I saw the movie on Saturday night, and enjoyed it quite alot. There was much stuff, and it blew up real good.
It’s funny, too, because M-D and I had a conversation on the way home about the names of sequels for XXX movies. We figured if they used Roman numerals, by the time they get to number 10 it will be XXXX. 🙂
Spike, this is true but I still think that xXx^2 sounds cooler. Although on an educational side, it might be better to introduce some Roman numerals into it because then it would force kids to learn them.
Well, in a lot of ways, it WAS dumb. But it wasn’t supposed to be anything but a movie with A LOT of action and a lot of things blowing up. In that respect, it succeeded incredibly well. There is no denying that the movie was exciting, and if you like action films, then you understand that you’re not there for brilliant acting. You’re there for stuff blowing up real good.
I think that it should be called XXX2 aka XXX squared.

Denise: well isn’t xxx^2 the same as just x^4?
DRS: Wouldn’t they have to call it XL at that point?

I liked the part when I didn’t go see the movie, because I think it looks dumb. But how ’bout that Vin Diesel, eh?
