Short People Anonymous

Hi. My name is Spike, and I’m short. If there’s a stigma against short people, the media surely contribute. It’s like that feeling you get (or “I get,” I should say) when someone asks me what grade I’m in. Granted, that happens very infrequently and usually the question is asked by someone quite elderly who can’t see anyway, but it still bugs me. It’s like that feeling you get when you walk into a classroom to teach and some of the eighth graders are taller than you.

Well, at least I have my looks. :>

  1. You’re saying I could follow in the footsteps of Napoleon and Alexander the Great. (Isn’t it funny that his name was “the Great” when he was a short guy? He had pretty good propaganda on his side I guess.)

  2. I’m short and trying to come to terms with it but 32 years on, I’m not getting anywhere. Being treated like an 11/12 year old where ever I go is no fun. But, hey, they say short people have loads of fun too!

  3. I don’t know if I’m being paranoid or what. But I was wondering if anyone else out there feels like they are always being picked on or single out because of their height. I am not a dwarf but I am only 4’11”. I feel like people treat me like a child. Even children treat me like children. Is this a common problem among short people or am I being silly?

  4. Hi my name is Chris and i am 5’3. I am 23 and i look 15. It is unfair in society that we are judged by our looks. Or is it that they are all jealous? OH, and i don’t need to be pampered!
