Cleaning Up

I finished looking through more of my junk that has been in storage to decide what to throw out and what to keep. It’s interesting the types of things that you find, especially when you’re not the type of person who throws anything out. In my case, I found a card that was given to me years ago by someone, as you might guess by reading the card (which I considered typing in for therapeutic reasons, but then realized it’s probably not my decision to do so), was in love with me. I was in love with her, too. What a nice feeling that was.

The card numbered 100 reasons why she loved me. I didn’t want to write out the whole thing since I didn’t write it originally, and most of it is pretty private, but here’s a sampling:

(1) You tuck me in at night… (10) Your laugh–it makes me smile… (31) When you say, “You’re such a girl.” It’s cute… (33) You own a tux… (47) When you hold open the trash can thing so I don’t have to touch it…. (57) Dust bunny… (71) You always think everything will work out… (100) Just because…

It was the nicest thing anyone had ever written me, or even done for me, and I just didn’t realize such a special thing “being in love” is. Someday I hope to be in love again.

  1. Be glad you’ve been there. Can you imagine what it would be like never to have been in love? To never have shared that with anyone?

I’m glad you have a physical reminder of that feeling…
