Well, this seems to be a trend, and I guess for today, it’s okay if I do it, too. So without further ado, here is my Friday Five:
1. What are the first things that you do in the morning to start your day?
Here’s what happens in the morning. My alarm clock goes off. I wake up anywhere from -5 to 60 minutes after it goes off… luckilly the clock is set early enough so that I can still make it to work on time. After waking up, I get out of bed, take a shower, brush my teeth and hair, skip breakfast, and hussle out the door. I walk about three blocks to the PATH station, go through the turnstile, hop on the train and sit there amongst the smelly people. At the second stop, I get off in Newark and walk through the Gateway building, to the street, and then down a block to my workplace. I show my ID badge, go upstairs, and fill my bottle with water for the day.
2. What are the last things that you do at night before going to bed?
Normally one of the things I would do before bed is check my email, but at the moment that’s impossible without going into my roommate’s room while she’s sleeping. Probably a bad idea. So without checking my email, I change into Sleep Dress, which for me these days is usually a tee-shirt and sweat pants. Sometimes to help me fall asleep quicker (I’m notorious for staying awake for hours trying to fall asleep), I do some relaxing techniques. That’s about it.
3. What daily routine have you recently added to your day?
Since I just moved a few days ago, most of the specifics of my daily routine have changed, such as taking the PATH train.
4. What routine do you wish you get rid of?
I would like to change the part before I fall asleep where I feel like I’ve been stupid for years and years, thinking I knew what friendship was and that it was something I had with people. Oh, I forgot to mention that in the “before going to bed” part.
5. What’s the one thing that makes you feel like something is missing if you don’t do it some point within your day?
Well, something is missing. And I don’t feel like choosing one thing. So there you go.
