If you haven’t seen the Chronic-cles of Narnia Rap, you’re missing something fun. As far as I know, it’s the first time Yahoo Maps, Mapquest and Google Maps have all been mentioned in the same rap, which also seems to be a thinly-veiled reference to marijuana.
I caught Syriana this weekend. Darren and I had the same reaction afterward — we couldn’t determine whether we thought it was good. Thinking about it now, I believe the movie, while long, had to be four hours instead of two in order for everything to make a little more sense.
Amy‘s reaction was different: at the end of the movie, she woke up.
George Clooney looks like a later Saddam Hussein in the movie. I guess it was sort of appropriate.
Why did you have to mention the Chronicles of Narnia rap? That was the only part of SNL I saw this week, and had it in my head. And now…it’s back.
Is it possible that SNL doesn’t completely suck anymore, or was that just a fluke?
4 hours?! that seems a bit much. and, if it takes that long to explain everything, then perhaps that means they were trying to do a bit too much in one movie.
while that was somewhat assuming, i would assume it’s a fluke, not the usual for SNL. cause it’s just a bad bad show…. i don’t really understand how it’s still on the air.
Consider, if you will, Randi, that the last Lord of the Rings movie was 3 1/2 hours, and 4 hours in its extended version. Would you say that movie was trying to say too much? The subject of Syriana is pretty dense, and could (and has and will be) covered in many, many, many movies and books and television specials. There’s just a lot to say, and the reason is because of the real situation that they’re trying to talk about. It’s confusing and it twists and it turns, but I wouldn’t say that any of it was particularly unnecessary. It was just hard to follow because of what it was. But, I think that’s true of the real life situation it’s fictionalizing, too, which maybe means that it was good. It’s hard to say. I’m still undecided….
