Hacking the Phone

I’ve successfully hacked the CDMA Motorola T720 on Verizon Wireless, with the help of some software. Now I can use my own MIDI files for ringtones, use my own pictures for backgrounds, and even update the software without purchasing anything through Get It Now™ or bringing the phone into a service center.

Of course we all know polyphonic ringtones can be annoying, but there’s no harm if no one else hears it.

  1. Nicely done, Spike. Now that you’ve blurted this information out on your blog, the “can you hear me now?” guy is going to show up at the door to our apartment with a shotgun.

  2. I have the 720i, can you share that software? I admit it, I love polygraphic tones…I mean, who can beat Sexual Healing and Beat It every time your phone rings?
