I switched from Movable Type to WordPress tonight. While the template system isn’t so great with the new software, the comment management system is much better than Movable Type’s. I’ll change the design here at some point, but at least now people can comment without too much hassle and I won’t have to deal with spam (on this website).
I don’t know how you had your system set up, but ever since I upgraded to MT3.2, I haven’t had any comment spam…
I had tons. They usually don’t get through, but they bog down the server when they try. Several hundred attempts, sometimes in the span of an hour or so. Yeah, they don’t get posted, but it causes the server to run the comment script too often.
I feel like I accidentally walked into a friend’s neighbor’s house.
I think it all depends on the site, M-D. I never really get any comment spam at all. Probably because I have very little traffic. 🙂
