This photo of Bush writing a note to Condoleezza Rice is too good to be true. (Here’s the wide angle shot.) It is from Reuters, it must be legit.

just because it’s from reuters, doesn’t mean it’s true. after all, look at the cbs news nonsense. with everything you can do with photos these days, i’m always a little suspicious of such things… although, true or not, it’s just plain funny, and yet sad all at the same time.
Hey man, som things just can’t be helped.
I keep looking at that, and while it seems funny and I want to make fun of the guy for it, what else was he supposed to do in that situation? I mean, he can’t just get up and excuse himself, because people notice that sort of thing. He can’t announce, “Excuse me folks, I’ve gotta take a dump.” If Condoleeza was, essentially, running the meeting, she would be most likely to be able to arrange for a break of some sort within the parameters of what’s appropriate for the meeting. And writing her a note is more polite than leaning over and talking to her while the meeting is going on. So….while it’s fun to make fun of the guy, I’m not sure you can really make such a huge thing about this one.
Ever the voice of reason. :>
Then allow me to be unreasonable please. The leader of the Free World, chosen by God to be president and lead us thru crisis after crisis, the man with ‘his finger on the button’ is scribbling notes to pass to Condi like a freshmen in study hall. And since I’ve got a bit of experience with juveniles passing notes, if he’s taking the time to write the note then he in all likelihood wasn’t paying attention to what was going on in the meeting anyway. People whisper in each others ear all of the time, it could have been done subtly and no one would have known what it was about. That said, WE ALL have had to go really really bad but were stuck somewhere so I can forgive this and I can’t see why the rest of the U.N. wouldn’t have too. I doubt it’s real. Photoshop isn’t just for getting the red out…
It’s real. There’s an interview with the photographer who is a regular White House photojournalist. Here’s one confirmation.
yeah, I saw Condi on TV this morning and when someone asked her about it she laughed “there are no secrets anymore” or something silly like that. I asked my boss to ask his brother who works in the U.S. Senate as Deputy Director of the Press Photographers’ Gallery but I’ve seen enough to believe now. I guess I wanted to believe, next you’ll tell me there’s no Tooth Fairy
