I don’t know if this screen capture of SkyTV was faked or not, but the caption describing Bush talking about Katrina is funny either way.

It’s amazing how many horrible things have happened during his tenure (so far), and yet it doesn’t seem to matter how many things he screws up. People still love him, and I just don’t get it.
I think all levels of government screwed this one up. I’m still amazed that the local and state goverments could be blindsided by this. They knew NO’s situation better than anyone.
People do still love Bush, but his approval rating is dropping somewhat rapidly. So there’s that.
Well, whoever designed the on-screen caption at BSkyB is obviously not a fan of Bush.
I suspect it was real, but unintentional – the Sky News Flashes are essentially the same as Fox News Channel’s “alerts” – the text equivilant of soundbites for the story currently unfolding. (Example: “President: [Supreme Court nominee John] Roberts is a gentleman.”) And given that BSkyB is owned by Rupert “Soon I Shall Own the World” Murdoch, a staunch conservative, I doubt someone could have intentionally sent that out over the air and gotten away with it.
People love him for the same reasons they love televangelist. They tell you everything is going to be alright if you trust them, and that THOSE people who don’t agree with them are bad and are going to suffer. He smiles and plays the red-white-blue country boy and the red states get to feel warm and fuzzy all over.
