One of the causes of corneal abrasion is “a young child accidentally poking you in the eye.”
Apparently I’m going to go dunk my head into a sink full of water. Maybe that will help.

What the heck happened?
Someone accidentally poked me in the eye last night. I thought it would be fine in the morning. It looks fine, a little red, but it’s kind of unpleasant and I can’t keep it open in the light.
Update: The doctor says it’s a corneal abrasion; I have a scratch on my eye. It should heal itself (with the assistance of some prescription medication) but it’s unpleasant in the mean time. I have sunglasses for driving now because it’s sensitive to the sunlight.
I’m not supposed to read or spend much time on the computer, but I have some major assignments for class due tonight and this week, and I have a busy week of work scheduled.
For future reference, the best defense against the eye gouge is straightening your hand and placing it perpendicular to the bridge of your nose. Unless, of course, that mop-headed bastard is a step ahead of you and he decides to counter with the dual-handed eye-punch.
