I know I’m consciously strange, but it’s good to know that I’m a weirdo on a subconscious level, too. I dreamed last night I was trying to impress someone. I believed it would be prudent to count to ten in Latin and talk about how I “studied” Latin and Greek in seventh grade. Unfortunately, I don’t remember much else in the dream, but I don’t believe the person was impressed as I had hoped.

Good News For People Who Love Cowbells and Voltron
Need more cowbell? Need more and varied cowbell? The Rad Monkey VLC800 Modeling Cowbell is the answer to your needs. It is a digital cowbell that uses samples to provide a variety of cowbell sounds. Sound samples are included on the site.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe is coming relatively soon to theaters.
Looking Forward
Thanks to everyone who expressed concern about my eye. It seems to be healing quickly with the help of prescription goop. Who knew? At least I didn’t have to wear a patch or anything silly like that.
Now I’m looking forward to next weekend and its vacation to Williamsburg, Virginia. Amy and I will be touring Colonial Williamsburg, visiting some haunted houses thanks to some tips from Doobie, going to Busch Gardens, and experiencing many other fun things as we come across them. (If anyone’s familiar with the town, feel free to leave more suggestions.)
More good stuff: I cashed in my gift certificates that I received last year from my boss-type person and picked up Feist, The Mars Volta, Ben Folds and Paul Anka. All good, good stuff.
Please Get Me a Napkin For My Eye
One of the causes of corneal abrasion is “a young child accidentally poking you in the eye.”
Apparently I’m going to go dunk my head into a sink full of water. Maybe that will help.
Why I Love Radio
A few months ago, I heard a song on WXPN and I thought out loud to my passenger, I like this song. I’d like to find out more about this artist. I wonder who she is.
I waited in the car until they mentioned the singer and the name of the song. It wasn’t long before her name completely vacated my mind. After some time, I forgot about the song all together.
Fast forward to a few days ago. Someone — a music critic — was discussing his ultimate summer compilation CD on NPR and this song was included. Now, I am able to remember: the group/person is called Feist.
I added her to my wish list.
Things and More Things
I upgraded Movable Type across all the blogs, and there might be some spam as the new spamblocker learns how to deal with it.
I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory earlier this weekend. It’s been a long time since I’ve read the book, but this seemed a little truer to the original than Willy Wonka, except for the ending.
Heights was a good movie about things that can only happen in New York City. Or perhaps, Amsterdam. Maybe Tokyo.
A new dude, working in my department at work, is starting in the office tomorrow. This will be fun. Also, it looks like they’re planning on hiring an assistant for the group. That should be quite helpful, though I still feel like this isn’t my calling.
Super Mario Bros
Finally. I’ve waited for this for too long: the Super Mario Bros Physics Tutorial.
The Daily Show’s New Digs
So here I am, watching The Daily Show (With Jon Stewart) and seeing the new set for the first time. I’m thinking about how I don’t like it at all. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way. Bring back the couch! (When you think about it, that’s kind of a strange command for a news show, fake or otherwise.)
“THE DAILY SHOW” is emanating from Jon’s head. Not good.
Space: The Destination of Tomorrow
It’s time to go back into space. The shuttle Discovery is scheduled to launch tomorrow.
Today I was the recipient of some good news on the work front, but I’ll have to see how it plays out. One of these days I have to get back to looking for something new.
Last week I was interviewed by a pretty big newspaper for a small article. Hopefully the journalist won’t make me sound like an idiot. It would probably help if I weren’t an idiot in the first place.
I need to redesign the Mix CD Exchange website. Who knows when that’ll happen.
Weekend Update
Sometimes I feel like I hardly get a break. I probably can’t even remember all the things I did this weekend. Luckilly, I managed to include homework in priorities so I can manage to get work done for school and not fail my accounting class. Let’s see.
Bryan paid us a surprise visit this weekend, so Friday night involved poker (which I won this time) and X-Box video games at Darren‘s house (which he no longer owns). It would be a dangerous idea for me to have time to play video games. The game in which the goal is to crash your vehicles and generate the most monetary damage is kind of addictive. It helps to get my road rage and frustrations out in a video game rather than the NJ Turnpike.
Saturday involved a trip to New Hope and the weather was perfect. Amy and I had lunch at the restaurant with the donkey. We had ice cream and visited the requisite shops. That night we caught E.T. playing at Petronello Gardens (the outdoors amphitheater), sponsored by Thomas Sweet.
E.T. was followed by a local student-made film based on Star Wars. I don’t remember the title.
Sunday was errand day, as always. I got a much-needed oil change for my car and Amy and I picked raspberries from Stults Farm. We brought some of these fresh raspberries to a barbecue at Bryan’s parents’ house. I proceeded to play more of that car crash video game.
Following the barbecue, we caught yet another movie (North by Northwest) at Petronello Gardens. I had never seen this one before. It was nothing short of excellent.
Any time over the past weekend not taken up by any of the above activities consisted of either sleep or homework.
