Hamilton Riot Update

Here’s the scoop on the AMC Hamilton Christmas Riot 2004. According to the Tre’n Times, the fight broke out during Fat Albert between the “quiet group” and “loud group.” Apparently the “quiet group” wanted the “loud group” to cease being loud and the “loud group” wanted the “quiet group” to fuck off.

Also, the article says that none of the other theaters were cleared out, so I guess we could have seen the movie anyway. That is, we could have if we didn’t mind trying to buy tickets while a whole bunch of people were running out of the theater.

Strange Dream

I had a strange dream last night and I need to write it down before I forget more of it.

I entered a large warehouse-store that kind of reminded me of Best Buy. There was definitely a lot of blue. There were many people there, wandering around. There were store workers, or some type of official personnel, going around from customer to customer injecting them with some kind of serum. The purpose of the injection was to get those who were injected to obey some kind of commander.

I had to struggle to avoid being injected myself, and this is where the memory of my dream fades. There was definitely much more to it, and the purpose of everything was realized. I should have written it down when I awoke.

Hard to Fathom

It’s hard to imagine the enormity of this catastrophe because it took place on the other side of the word. One of the largest earthquakes in the last century shook the planet, changed the map of the world, affected the rotation of the earth thus shortening the day by a few microseconds, and killed up to 25,000 people.

Twenty-five thousand. It may not be as many people who have died in World Wars, but it is a huge number.

Yet Another AMC Hamilton Riot

M-D succinctly described last night’s events, so I won’t repeat what he’s already written, other than to just say that for the second time in four years, our Christmas tradition of seeing a movie was thwarted by the rough cinema patrons in Hamilton, New Jersey. What is it about Christmas that makes people so violent? My guess is excessive alcoholism and depression.

Holiday Thoughts

Merry Christmas to all my friends (there are so many of them and I am thankful for every single one) and Merry Christmas to the special people who have disappeared from my life (I miss all of them).
