Seeing Everybody

This vacation is the first time I’ve seen my mother, brother and my mother’s boyfriend in almost three years. Yesterday, for Thanksgiving dinner, was the first time I saw my aunt, uncle, and two cousins in probably closer to… I have no idea how many years. I just know that I last remember my younger cousin being a baby and he’s 15 and a sophomore in high school now.

So my cousins are both into music now, and they play guitars and piano and seem to have a big interest in sound design and MIDI. The older cousin is a music major and will be going into entertainment law. It’s so interesting how everyone in my family — my mother’s side and my father’s side, but more on my mother’s side — is into the study of music.

Well, I’m seeing Cirque du Soleil tonight and I have to go get ready… Happy Thanksgiving to everyone…

I’m In Vegas

We arrived in Las Vegas today after a four-and-a-half hour drive from southern California. There hasn’t been any gambling yet though. There’s a bit of an issue. My brother lost his license a week ago and has no photo identification. Like me (27), he looks a little young for his age (22) so he has an issue with being carded. Thus, he won’t be gambling unless the Las Vegas Police Department are able to provide him with a photo ID. He has all of his papers with him, so maybe it’ll work out. He was supposed to teach me all about Roulette…

Plan For The Week

I’m leaving tomorrow for California. I plan on meeting up with my mother and brother, both of whom I haven’t seen since the last time I was on the west coast, something like three years ago. We’re going to drive from the Los Angeles area to Las Vegas and spend a few days there, visiting my aunt and uncle who live there. Their kids are meeting us in Vegas for Thanksgiving, too. It should be just like the old days but instead of driving to Long Island and listening to Arlo Guthrie’s Alice’s Restaurant in the car, I’ll be doing school work on the plane.

My new computer is almost ready to be built. I have all the parts except for the CPU, memory, DVD+RW/-RW, and DVD-ROM. I had these parts delivered to a co-worker’s house in order to avoid sales tax. FedEx attempted delivery on Friday, and then again following that, but he wasn’t there to sign for the shipment. I was hoping to be able to put everything together tonight, but now it’ll have to wait until I return from vacation next week.

I’ll keep my readers updated on my casino winnings. Anyone have any tips?

Never In The United States

Anyway, I saw this article about Hillary Rodham Clinton’s appearance in Iowa prior to the primaries and decided to post about it because of the irony in the article. In the middle of the page, away from everything else on
the other side, in parentheses, capital letters, quotated, read the
following words:

(Six actual presidential candidates are here, too, and some campaign officials worried that Clinton’s presence would confine them to parenthetical attention.)

Heh, journalism humor. Such a strange animal.
