Second Call Back

I’ve accepted an interview at a middle school in central Jersey, but I’m still up in the air about the elementary school. It’s unlikely I’d take that job. I don’t want to waste my time or their time by going to an interview where I’m pretty confident it wouldn’t work out. You could argue that it’s good practice, but if I can get that practice somewhere else, I would be better off.

  1. At the same time, though, if you go on the interview, and then are offered the job and tell them, politely, that you are grateful for the offer but you must decline, then at least you’ve interviewed with them, and they know who you are and they may remember who you are if another job in the district opens up. You just have to make sure that if you do turn it down, you do it VERY graciously. I don’t think it’s about practice, I think it’s about getting your name and your face out there.
