I decided on an apartment.
It’s in Jersey City, not far from the PATH Station. This means that even though I probably won’t have a car to use very shortly, I’ll still have quick access to just about anywhere I want to go.
The area around the apartment isn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t want to live there forever, and I certainly wouldn’t want to bring kids up there. It’s fine for a temporary solution.
Also, I think I actually found a good roommate. She’s a music publicist, working independently, seems to be pretty successful, and was able to have intelligent discussions with me about Pink Floyd. In any case, we got a long really well That was a big factor that went into my decision, especially after having such a bad experience with my last roommate.
In any case, I’ll be moving some of my stuff in today and will probably start sleeping there within a few days.
Also, she already has a cable modem and there would be no problem sharing it. I’ll be able to have full internet access again, including a connection for a computer running Heart Beat of Pompeii.
Once I have my laptop paid off, I think I’m going to buy one of those fancy Macs.
a-HEM? Another computer, Mister “I want to be out of debt”?
Thanks, Julie. I was thinking the same thing.
I’m glad you’ve found a new apartment, though. That part is cool.
