First Part of Plan Not Accomplished

I didn’t see Moulin Rouge tonight. Instead, Ali, Jim and I rented Best in Show, from the guys who brought you Waiting For Guffman and Spinal Tap. It was almost very funny–I would place it somewhere between “funny a lot” and “very funny.”

  1. I saw “Best in Show” this weekend as well. I thought it was hillarious. Apparently most of the movie was improv (like Waiting for Guffman). The actors would be told what was suppose to happen in the scene and they were just let go. I personally liked Christopher Guests character. Do you speak like him Spike? 🙂

  2. Agree that BIS had great potential to be positively hysterical but didn’t always make it there. I’m not sure why. Sometimes it did… The bit about the couple who first met going to Starbucks across the street… now THAT was a thing of beauty.

  3. Troy – Not quite, but I can keep working on it. 🙂

Jessa – I liked that bit. I also liked the fact that there was a character named H—, because, hey, how often do you see that?
