Discovery and Misconception?

From my research on CD-R’s, I made another discovery. You’ve seen those people who have CD’s hanging from their rear view mirrors? For years I just thought it was some people’s idea of “cool.” Now it turns out that they are buying into a myth that CD’s, because of their reflective properties, will shield a car from radar detection.

  1. I don’t think the idea is to interfere with it so much, but to deflect the signal from the radar gun. But I agree, it’s silly. The chances that the beam would strike that area of the car are slim at best.

  2. someone once told me that they viewed speeding tickets as having to pay your speeding bill, the way you pay your cable bill. Every once in awhile you get a speeding ticket and have to pay it, but then that allows you to speed the rest of the time. I like that outlook. 🙂
