It looks like my recordings of They Might Be Giants songs I made with a modular band during college have garnered some attention. Word has it that Hide Away Folk Family is being considered for a TMBG Tribute Album. I only wish now that the recording sounded better.
That is ubercool. I love TMBG.
You have GOT to be kidding…. 🙂
Seriously? But…how did they even find it? And, no offense, but there have got to be better options out there. I’m speaking primarily in terms of the audio quality…although, given some of the things they have put on albums in the past, maybe this isn’t such a surprise. 🙂
Let me just say that this tribute album is fan-based, not record company-based. Also, I agree with the poor sound quality, but, how many other TMBG arrangements include a bassoon and a banjo? Those have to count for something.
I’ll have to agree with you there. You have got that going for you. 🙂
Someday, we’ll record good sounding versions, and then we’ll be famous. Well…maybe not FAMOUS, but we’ll be cool, anyway. 🙂
do you still have a copy of that other TMBG song we did… the one where the sound quality was *supposed* to be bad? I forget the title….
You can download and listen to “the college tapes” from my music page. I Can Hear You is the one that’s meant to sound not-so-great.
Good for you Spike!!! Ley me know how it turns out.
This has nothing to do with this topic, but WOW! I LOVE that new picture you have with the highway signs. Very cool. 🙂
For those who haven’t seen the highway sign picture, you can see it here or reload my home page until it pops up.
That is pretty cool!! How did you do that?
nice highway sign….. ahh the wonders of photoshop.
Actually, there’s a Java program that makes these things so you don’t have to mess with photoshop. It contains all the graphics for roadsigns (like interstate and state highwaays). I linked to the program’s location in my “More Bits” area.
