So people are talking about how interactive TV will be Big Brother (and I’m not talking about the elimination television show, I’m talking about the concept from 1984, by George Orwell — or was it Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley? I read them both the same time back in high school.) Anyway, apparently the new television format will monitor your viewing preference and model its stimuli after the viewer’s reactions. In any case, the simplest way to get around this, as I see, is embrace the new TV format, but just click “off” (or unplug, or whatever you have to do) whenever an ad or commercial shows up.
